We are pipeline technology

Investor in people

Atmos believe that training and development of staff is essential to the quality of services we provide to our clients. The extensive knowledge and skills we have acquired on hundreds of pipelines are shared in regular internal training courses and as part of work practices. The company also encourages its employees to engage in training outside the company, ranging from MBAs to day courses.

Atmos’ Chief Executive Officer, Dr Jun Zhang, is the inventor of the world renowned statistical pipeline leak detection system, Atmos Pipe. Jun developed the system during her seven years at Shell under the name ‘Shell’s Statistical Pipeline Leak Detection (SPLD) system’. Jun founded Atmos International in 1995, and the statistical system has replaced numerous leak detection systems at Shell, BP, ExxonMobil, Total and many other major oil companies around the world. Jun holds a BSc, MSc, PhD, and MBA.

Global Director of Finance, Administration, and Marketing, Michael Twomey, has worked in the oil and gas industry for 36 years. Michael founded the US office in 1999 and the Costa Rica office in 2010 and has built a highly skilled, multi-disciplined team to support Atmos applications in Americas. Michael uses his unique understanding of the pipeline industry to introduce effective Atmos solutions to numerous key pipeline operators in new and existing markets. A relentless champion of innovation, he is a firm advocate for the Atmos philosophy of offering a complete suite of leak detection methods. Different pipeline types require different leak detection methods to assure the detection of every leak.
