Pipeline leak detection and simulation training event - Abu Dhabi
9-10 November 2016
Capital Centre Arjaan by Rotana
Abu Dhabi UAE
Directed at pipeline controllers, control room supervisors, consultants, pipeline engineers, and pipeline operations personnel, the leak detection course covers the key leak detection technologies deployed today, including statistical volume balance, rarefaction wave, E-RTTM, and fiber optics. The simulation course introduces the participant to pipeline hydraulics and offline and online pipeline simulation software.
Why should I attend this training class?
As pipeline infrastructure ages and more and more product is transported, we see more and more pipeline leaks. Regrettably, some leak detection systems have failed to detect these leaks and other leak detection systems were ignored by the operators because they were unreliable. Thus leaks that should have been small spills became disasters that cost the pipeline owners millions of dollars.
Research such as the 2012 US Department of Transportation Leak Detection Study shows that every pipeline behaves differently and the best leak detection solution for one pipeline is not always the best solution for another. The performance of leak detection technologies can vary depending on many factors such as topology, pipeline location, existing infrastructure, or product type.
Day one of the training course outlines how different LDS methodologies work and where they can be optimized.
Day two of the training course outlines the basics of simulation and pipeline hydraulics, demonstrating to delegates how to configure and run pipeline simulations.
Atmos International will also be exhibiting at ADIPEC 2016 (7-10 November 2016) with our partner BSS Tech.
