Atmos International’s Software Development department has three teams, totalling 18 team members.
We offer a limited number of year-long placements to help give an idea of what professional software development is like to candidates who can show they can maximise their return from such a placement.
Role
You will join one of the three teams for the year. You will be writing code under supervision from the team and will be treated like a full-time member of the team, being assigned work, and coached to write code and unit tests. You will get valuable experience of how software development is practiced in a real-world environment.
Skills
You will be working primarily in C#. As part of the assessment you will submit a code sample in C# and will be expected to be ready to code in C# from day 1. Candidates who do not feel that they will be ready to write C# from the day they start will be unable to achieve as much from the placement as we would hope to give. Any other skills you need will be coached on the job.
Location and working hours
We operate a hybrid model. You will be expected to work in the office in Didsbury (M20) two days a week (which days will be determined by the team you join). The other days you can either work from home or come into the office (which is open Monday-Friday). We have core hours when you are expected to work (0930-1500). You are free to make up the other hours as you wish. The hourly total is 37.5 hours per week. You should be resident in or around Manchester for the duration of the placement.
Reward
For internships starting summer 2025 the pay offered is £27,873 pa. The contract start and end dates will be agreed depending upon your circumstances and course dates.
Application
The ideal candidate would apply with a CV which indicates that they are a good fit for the above role profile. They would also be able to show that they have produced some code by linking to Github. An outstanding candidate would be able to show that they had produced code other than that which was required for their coursework.
