Atmos Wave rarefaction wave leak detection system has been installed and commissioned on three sour gas pipelines in a gas gathering field successfully. These pipelines range from 12” to 20” in diameter and 4 KM to 30 KM in length, operating between 70 and 90 barg pressure. The presence of H2S in the gas makes any leak dangerous to humans and animals. Therefore, the fast and reliable detection of leaks is a critical requirement for these pipelines.
Atmos Wave was commissioned as soon as the pipelines became operational. Leaks introducing a pressure drop as low as 0.025 bar (0.36 psi) will be detected within two minutes.
This application is another example of how Atmos technology can be used to provide our clients with the best possible protection and peace of mind.
