Addressing supply shortages for leak detection hardware parts
We spoke to Energy Focus (EIC) to answer how Atmos International (Atmos) is overcoming the current supply chain crunch. Jun Zhang, CEO explains how we’ve been impacted by the current operational environment, further compounded by the pandemic and changes in customs’ regulations.
R&D have been faced with shortages for leak detection hardware parts but have been working to overcome this by:
- Ensuring we have sufficient stock prior to completing electronic designs
- Being flexible when it comes to difficult to source parts that are non-integral to meeting safety regulations
- Reusing good parts rather than scrapping them to minimize wastage and put them back into circulation
By overcoming these core supply chain challenges we were able to deliver large-scale hardware projects during the height of the pandemic. For one customer we delivered and installed over 50 Atmos Eclipse units across a total of 38 sites.
