Innovators of pipeline leak detection
The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise recognize the outstanding achievements of UK businesses in the categories of:
- Innovation
- International trade
- Sustainable development
- Promoting opportunity through social mobility
Last year, Atmos International (Atmos) received the prestigious award in the Innovation category for its Atmos Wave product.
Atmos Wave uses minute changes in pipeline pressure to detect leaks and thefts in pipelines. The innovative technology analyzes high dynamic range and high frequency data from fast response pressure meters. Making it possible to detect small leaks within seconds and accurately pinpoint the location.
Many of our customers around the world use Atmos Wave to detect leaks and thefts on their pipelines. Helping to not only meet stringent government safety standards, but also:
- Protect the environment and reduce the risk to human life
- Mitigate financial loss incurred through fines and clean-up costs
- Foil illegal theft activity
- Reduce the risk of damage to company reputation
- Enhance pipeline operating conditions
Atmos Wave is continually being developed to help our customers facing the challenges of pipeline theft. Pipeline thieves are often experienced and use sophisticated equipment and methods. This is one of the reasons why innovation is at the core of what we do to ensure we stay one step ahead.
Recognition for fresh thinking
The Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation is a testament to Atmos’ company values that the employees live and breathe every day. A lot of focus goes into fresh thinking and innovation, with a large investment going into research and development each year.
“It is great to be recognized for our innovation at Atmos. Our dedicated research and development team are always working on new inventions that bring value to our customers. Many new products come to fruition by addressing a specific set of challenges faced by our customers.” Dr Jun Zhang, founder and CEO at Atmos International
Due to the ongoing COVID pandemic the award was received during a virtual ceremony last year. However, this week our Technical Director Andrew Hoffman attended the royal reception at Windsor Castle.
The royal reception celebrated winners from both 2020 and 2021, with one representative from each company attending.
