The State of North Dakota yesterday introduced Bill 1349 that proposes tax breaks on leak detection, leak protection and monitoring equipment using the modified accelerated cost recovery system depreciation method. Although this article does not include tax advice, it should be possible to using depreciation against tax not only for leak detection systems, but also expensive instrumentation, communication, instrumentation and possibly SCADA systems.
