API Tanks, Valves, and Piping Conference & Expo

API Tanks, Valves, and Piping Conference & Expo
10-13 October 2016
Aria Hotel, Las Vegas Nevada USA

In December 2015, The American Pipeline Institute released their Recommended Practice 1175. This program establishes high level best practice for pipeline leak detection plans.

This two day event will discuss ‘new and existing industry codes and standards’. Delegates will learn about future trends from leaders in the industry.

Atmos will be exhibiting during this event on booth 513.

Vice President of Business Development, Adrian Kane will be presenting a paper at the event:

'Rapid implementation of a pipeline leak detection system without existing flow or pressure meters'

Wednesday 12 October
Session C4 B 3:50 pm 5:00 pm

Representatives from the Anaheim office will be demonstrating the Pipeline Guardian hardware and software.

Pipeline Guardian is a range of leak detection hardware and software designed to overcome traditional LDS limitations, such as:

  • Measurement uncertainties of conventional pipeline instrumentation
  • Lack of instrumentation in the right locations
  • Lack of infrastructure at those locations

Learn more here.

This year Atmos also launched Atmos Rupture Detector, a module that alarms with 100% certainty, providing the confidence to quickly shut-down a pipeline in the event of a rupture. Read more here.

Atmos Simulation Suite offers an offline module to automate some surge analysis procedures. The system then produces a detailed report. It conforms to the US Department of Transport (DOT) requirements, identifying locations where the pipeline is most likely to rupture and which operating conditions are safest. Read more about Atmos Surge Analysis here.

The conference is divided into three tracks: tanks, valves and piping, and refinery equipment. Presentations include:

  • Robotic inline inspection of Alyeska Valdez Marine terminal ballast and oil lines
  • The use of drones/UAS technology in storage tank operations to reduce cost and increase safety
  • Panel discussion: Strange stories and unusual tales
