Atmos International’s Martin Duff and Harry Smith will be presenting a webinar hosted by the Pipeline Industries Guild (PIG) on “Using high resolution data to detect when and where water leaks occur.”
The volume of available data in the water industry is at an all time high. Water utilities have invested heavily in metering in a bid to produce better outcomes such as reducing water leakage, minimising water supply interruptions and mitigating the damage caused by any pollution incidents through the use of data. However, the quality of the data that exists is not as good as it could be. Technology communications advances such as the internet of things (IoT), Industry 4.0 and Big Data allow data to be collected at (high) resolutions never previously possible, yet water utilities often don’t maximise the full potential of the data that is available.
In this webinar we’ll discuss the importance of high resolution data in leak detection, exploring the negative pressure wave method of leak detection that uses high resolution pressure data to identify leaks as they occur and compare this to other methods that use lower resolution data to identify existing leakage, exploring the benefits that high resolution data can bring to leak detection.
The webinar will be held at 12:00 GMT on Tuesday February 28, 2023. You can learn more about the webinar and register for it here.
The Pipeline Industries Guild is the only association world-wide to cater directly for the needs of the pipeline industry, regardless of engineering discipline, application, or qualification and provide a voice for the pipeline industries to share best practice and technological developments.
